EPM3032ALC44-10N Settings for Quartus II

Hi, I'm a first time user of the Altera CPLD chip EPM3032ALC44-10N and Quartus II software. I have a design that doesn't use all the I/O's. I am also driving HCT cmos chips with the EPM3032A outputs. In the Quartus software settings to program the chip I would like to know what the optimum settings for unused I/O's and what voltage to set at.

From the "Assignments" Menu, clicking "Device" from the dropdown. I have the MAX3000A family selected with the "Available Device" set to EPM3032ALC44-10. Then selecting "Device and Pin Options" it's the "Unused Pins" and "Voltage" setting that I am referring to. I have the "Unused Pins" set to "As input tristated" and the "Voltage" set to "3.3-V LVTTL". Could anyone confirm that these setting should work with the HCT cmos chips I am using and the EPM3032?

Thanks for any help.

    Your settings are appropriate.

You could also use "As input tri-stated with weak pull-up" if that device family supports a weak pull-up.

HCT logic levels are TTL logic levels, so the 3.3V MAX output levels will be compatible with the HCT input logic levels.

    Cheers,

Ok good, my voltage level is set right. I didn't see the "As input tri-stated with weak pull-up" as an option for the EPM3032 CPLD so I guess leave it "As input tristated".

Thanks for the quick reply Dave!

    Yep, that'll work fine.
