Honored ContributorI found in the download file list at altera.com that Quartus II version 13.0 SP1 supports Cyclone (without II and higher as suffix)
I still have a development board with a Cyclone and a JTAG interface, so right now I want to explore it. Also downloaded the accompanying cyclone-13.0.1.232.qdz file that should incorporate the Cyclone data. However Cyclone II is the lowest family that shows up?
Honored ContributorIt looks like Cyclone and Cyclone II were phased on in Quartus II v13.1. All versions prior to that should support the Cyclone family, including 13.0 SP1. I have 13.0 sp1 installed and can confirm that the Cyclone family is supported. If you go into the Assignments -> Device menu you can select Cyclone as Device Family.
Honored ContributorThe Cyclone family is present but the lowest device series is type CycloneII and I am looking for the Cyclone series. Call it Cyclone I but actually the name is Cyclone. It is the series devices that was marketed before the Cyclone II.
Here is a screenshot that shows that it is not in the .qdz file, as far as I understand.Honored ContributorThe Cyclone family (gen 1) is supported in Quartus II 13.0sp1. See attached screen shot. Maybe you need to go back through the install process to enable that family.
Honored ContributorJust downloading the device support file isn't enough. See the Quartus installation guide for instructions on how to install the device support file.
