One annoying problem with the older 7.2 SP2 driver is that it conflicts with many FTDI based USB to serial adapters. After installing the driver, I copied the ftdibus.sys file to a different name and manually updated the driver references in the registery. It is quite a pain.

Looking at the 8.1 driver, I see that the file name is no longer ftdibus.sys but usbblaster.sys instead. Maybe they renamed it to avoid the above mentioned problem and maybe that is why it is no longer signed. FTDI may provide a standard ftdibus.cat file which no longer works when you change the name of the driver.
