Conf_done pin failed to go high in device 1

Hello everybody,

I am using a Nios II Cyclone III Eval Kit connected to Quartus II by USB Blaster. The problem is that everytime I write a program and compile it, it takes several times to send it to the Board. Sometimes it works at first time, sometimes I have to send it 20 times. In this case the process goes up to ~70% and then I get the error mentionend in the thread. Could this be a problem with the unused pin assignment? At the moment all values are at Quartus default.

    Problem solved, seems to be an error in the old USB-Blaster. Now I am using the on-board circuitry and everything works fine.

    I had a similar problem on a custom board. The programmer would make it most of the way through and then I would get the error "CONF_DONE pin failed to go high in device 1". After a lot of scratching my head I found that I had connected nCONFIG to an I/O pin of the FPGA to assist in remote configuration. As I had not set this pin, repeated resets were occuring.

    The solution was to set this pin to high and program serial configuration device with this firmware. The JTAG then finally worked!! (note just programming the device via the JTAG with this pin set didn't work, I had to program the serial configuration device first).

    Hello. I had the same problem, but it was my mistake: you should check switch prog/run on your board. If use JTAG interface turn switch into run position, in the case using active serial programming you should choose prog position.

    hello,today i have the same problem.Solved it.check switch prog/run on your board.Just turn switch into run position ,the problem will be solved.

    People thanks. I am using a Terasic DE II board and I put the RUN/PROG in prog without knowing that for JTAG it must be put on RUN. It is kind of counter intuitive

    Problem solved.
