Can Quartus V9.0 SP2 run under Win7 32bit

I have loaded Quartus V9.0 SP2 under windows 7, 32 bit.

I had problems loading - with a couple of unreconised files, even though the path and files were present and correct

Running Nios IDE the compile fails with heap errors.

Therefore can V9.0 run under windows 7?

    I seem to recall using 9.0 or 9.1 on Windows 7 x64 but there were quite a bit of gotchas involved. I would recommend avoiding those and using a later version.

    Please advise how to go about getting 9.0 to run on Windows 7 x64!

    This is, I understand, the last version to support apex 20k.

    Without this info I'm stuck maintaining an older OS just to run Quartus.

    Install VirtualBox. Install Windows XP under VirtualBox. Install Quartus 9.0SP2 under Windows XP.
