aoc reports aocl-opt.exe not found

someone's installer (cough bwtk1.7 cough) wiped my path environment variable. I think I recreated it properly. But when I run aoc I get this error message:

aocl-opt.exe runs if invoked directly. Does this make any sense? I'd rather not go through and reinstall

What version of Quartus and the Altera SDK for OpenCL are you using?

Double check that your path contains the following:

%QUARTUS_ROOTDIR%\bin64;%QSYS_ROOTDIR%\bin;%SOPC_KIT_NIOS2%\bin;C:\altera\14.0\modelsim_ae\win32aloem;%ALTERAOCLSDKROOT%\bin;%ALTERAOCLSDKROOT%\host\windows64\bin;%AOCL_BOARD_PACKAGE_ROOT%\windows64\bin;

And that you have the following environment variables set (shown for toolchain version 14.0):

ALTERAOCLSDKROOT=C:\altera\14.0\hld

AOCL_BOARD_PACKAGE_ROOT=C:\altera\14.0\hld\board\bittware

QSYS_ROOTDIR=C:\altera\14.0\quartus\sopc_builder

well, it doesn't check the path

There are two lines in aoc.pl that apply:

So apparently it's a problem with aocl-clang, not aocl-opt

Trying to get the aocl-clang to spit something out, it's not happening. My perl is nonexistent, so that's no help either

I'm not aware of any BSP installation, Bittware or otherwise, that would touch anything outside of %ALTERAOCLSDKROOT%\board. Did you reinstall all of Quartus and check that the directories were in fact all deleted, or did you reinstall just the BSP or bwtk?

Well, contrary to my first post in this thread, I don't think the BWTK 1.7 installation had anything to do with this at all, unless there is a perl interpreter hidden in there somewhere.

There are other things on this system that could have caused changes to the path, don't know.

I have been clutching at straws since I don't want to wipe this computer and start over. I have reinstalled BWTK 1.6. I have also reinstalled Quartus and openCL a couple of times. I went through some hardware issues which meant I had to install some software for the AVR on the board

I have no idea why the perl code that does all the work is not being executed properly, I'm trying to track that down

I finally found the files you're referencing. I've never messed with those and don't recommend you to either. I never even ran aocl-opt.exe directly. The only things you should need to directly use are aoc.exe and aocl.exe.

Not sure if this would work, but try reordering your path to match that of mine, which works without any problems.
