Altera Installer v10.0 Rev2 Released

Altera recently released a new version of their installer. Prior to issues that have been reported in this forum, i tested out the installer.

It seems to have fix the antivirus issue that cause the installation to be incomplete.

And i also tested out the disk space issue by playing around the thousand separator. That too have been fixed!

The Rev2 installer is now ready for download at the download center (https://www.altera.com/download/dnl-index.jsp).

I noticed all the windows standalone installers are in Rev2 version too.

I managed to install version 10 once. All my collegues warned me not to - but I was foolish. I managed to get it to insall... the field tech told me to make sure a previous version was running when I installed it ... and it worked. Then later... I unstalled quartus 9.1sp2 because the nios2 eds was acting non-sensically giving me multiple target errors in the make file "all of a sudden" in a previously compiling design. Yep ...guess what... 9 hours and no joy... this is a really poor quality job Altera...worst yet...10 years using your product and this is the nearly the lowest point. Competitive advantage is eroding quickly

    Hi,

You should file a Service Request explaining the problem, and I am sure Altera will try to help you.

Did you install both the Quartus and Nios2EDS software? Did you use the On-demand installer (downloading from the web), or did you download and use the self extract, stand-alone EXE installers? What Operating System? What is the exact error you are getting?

    Thanks,
