Webcam drivers

Hi,

I'm trying to install drivers for an USB webcam on a Nios 2 Cyclone board with the Microtronix USB - Ethernet card on top. The linux kernel and filesystem installed fine, but I can't figure out how I should deal with the drivers (spca5xx/LE) that http://mxhaard.free.fr (http://mxhaard.free.fr) provides. Should they be included as part of the filesystem or as a linux application project?

Can I just upload them with the USB blaster and run the installation from the command line through SOPC?

Being something of a newbie both with linux and Nios, I would appreciate it if you can answer with a "Nios II for dummies" style http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif .
