V1.4 with NiosII 5.1 problems

Hi, I am new to this stuff but here is the problem:

On fresh computer:

1) installed Quartus 5.1 Web Edition

2) installed Kit: Nios II Evaluation Edition, Version: 5.1, Build: 73b

3) installed nios2linux-1.4.zip

During nios2linux-1.4.zip install strange message box appear:

Cygwin extensions were not installed properly

What does it mean? I didn&#39;t find anything about cygwin neither in readme nor in other documentation files.

After that I follow Linux Quick Start Guide but at step &#39;Creating Kernel Project&#39;

&#39;New Project&#39; dialog doesn&#39;t contain "Microtronix Nios II" folder with kernel project.

Any idea where to dig and what to read to get started?

    Hi,

    You can try running the script : ./install_cyg_ext.sh

    But be aware though that while all worked with 5.0, version 5.1 created a problem with the "upload" command, so you won&#39;t be able to complete the installation of the Kernel on your board as indicated in the Quick Start Guide...
