Using the component editor for custom instructions

Does anyone know how to use the component editor to modify a custom instruction definition?

The documentation for the component editor says:

--- Quote Start ---

To edit a component, right-click it in the list of available components on the System Contents tab and click Edit Component.

--- Quote End ---

But I can't find them anywhere other than on the custom instruction page of the nios processor definition - and right-clicking there doesn't give a menu.
