Using PLX 2272 USB chip and NIOS

I try to port PLX device library, written for Microsoft Visual Studio environment, into the NIOS II IDE environment. This causes some problems which I struggle to solve. PLX has a porting guide, but it doesn't result in error free compilation. Have someone else been doing a similar porting? Have someone used PLX 2272 USB Device controller chip together with Altera processor, and if so, what type of software library was used. I'm pleased for any tips and hints that takes me further in the process
