can you be more specific about what went wrong? the de2 system cd has pretty much everything you need to get started with the board.

I tried running the "hello_world" tutorial from NIOS II IDE on the DE2 board,
and got the following message:
"Using cable "USB-Blaster [USB-0]", device 1, instance 0x00
Pausing target processor: not responding.
Resetting and trying again: FAILED
