The hardware is different.

Please use the example design for nios cyclone II dev board (not DE2),

There is prebuild kernel image which you may try out,

nios2-configure-sof NiosII_cycloneII_2c35_full_featured.sof

nios2-download -g zImage

nios2-terminal
