Nios IDE automatically creates hardware support code (drivers) depending on the .ptf file you selected, .ptf is the description of your SOPC Builder design.

Driver code for each sopc builder component is contained inside the components directory:

C:\altera\quartus60\sopc_builder\components for QII 6.0

C:\altera\61\quartus\sopc_builder\components for QII 6.1
