uClinux & hard disk drive

Hi everyone!

I need to connect a compact flash card to my Nios develoment board (Altera Cyclone II Devkit).

The board has got a cf socket, but I cannot use it, because some of the signals are already used by my application.

I have a free 40 pin J11 connector. I want to use an IDE to CF adapter board.

I read that the Altera CF core operates the cf card in true IDE mode. So a normal hard disk (and therefore a cf card in an adapter board) should work.

But the Altera cf core has several signals a normal IDE bus does not have (more than 3 address wires, detect_n, power, ...).

How may I connect an IDE hard disk (cf on adapter board) to my Nios system?
