Two questions regarding component generation

hello all,

i have two questions about component creation (for sopc builder):

1. is there any way to create component using script-based method (from command line)? it's really annoying to define all pins over and over again whenever the interface changes.

2. is there official documentation describing how to build a gui for component configuration? it's pretty easy to hack it and learn from examples, but there must be pretty much i don't know about it.

Regarding your questions about the component editor:

1) Currently the supported way of creating an SOPC Builder component is to use the component editor (There was an older tool call Interface to User Logic, but it has been obsoleted). I believe the component editor was designed to publish a finished component to be imported into SOPC Builder&#39;s library. The top level HDL signals should be finalized before you import the files into the component editor.

2) There is no documentation on building your own GUI to configure your component. There was an old document on the PTF file format, but it is quite outdated.
