You can read linux-2.6.x/Documents/filesystems/proc.txt.

Due the missing redirect in sash, you can look at the blackfin's uclinux,

uClinux-dist/user/blkfin-test/audio_test/echo2.c

And you should really work on Linux instead of nios2ide.
