starting nios2-terminal stand alone

Hi, I have programmed my application in the flash of my CycloneII board and also some software. I want to use this more or less stand alone, but how can I start the nios2-terminal to communicat...

Open a shell window and run nios2-terminal

Open another shell windown and use nios2-download
