Software to control a VGA screen

I would like to develop software to control a VGA screen (640*480) with the NIOS II. I find some interesting sources from microwindows and I downloaded the microwindows-0.90 package. I know I have the low level driver to write. But I would like to used the medium and high layers. I tried to compile with the IDE some selected modules, but the IDE requests more and more modules to add. I think I have some# define to inform in the microwindows software.

Is there some body who did this ?

Today I don’t use an operating system.
