Serial Config for Cyclone

Question

I using a Cyclone device and a NIOS II CPU.

I would like to use the EPCS1S18 or EPCS4S18 serial config devices.

MSEL bits are both grounded.

I believe I have figured out how to connect them to the Cyclone but a few questions remain.

1. I would like to use JTAG to load the Cyclone and use hte NIOS in the Cyclone to program the EPCSxS18. How do I connect the MasterOutSlaveIn Data pin?

2. How do I create the proper part number for a commercial (and industrial) temp range config device either EPCS1S18 or EPCS4S18.

3. Where can I find the detail of NIOS II programming the serial config device.

1. Configuration schemes are given in the Cyclone Manual (http://www.altera.com/literature/lit-cyc.jsp) in Section VI.

2. As far as I know the EPCS devices are only available with industrial temperature range: EPCS1SI8, EPCS4SI8

3. Details can be found in “Nios II Processor Reference Handbook” and “Nios II Software Developer's Handbook” which are available from http://www.altera.com/literature/lit-nio2.jsp (http://www.altera.com/literature/lit-nio2.jsp)
