Recognizing hard disk

Hi all, trying to read/write from a hard disk, with CycloneII Nios Kit and Nios II uClinux when I try to mount the hard disk I get the error: mount: /dev/hda is not a valid block device ...

Can you tell me which board do you use? EP2C35 or others .

Now I will do it ,I want to know , how to connect the harddisk of IDE to the Board(dev kit). which port do you use .

because I have finished to mount the CF card . I wish we do it together
