Quartus "export: 137 ... bad variable name" error

When launching Quartus 10.0sp1 on ubuntu 32bit, i get the following error: /opt/altera/10.0sp1/quartus/bin$ ./quartus export: 137: 2000.00: bad variable name At first the quartus worked ...

my guess is a problem with dash. can you install bash and try: 

/opt/altera/10.0sp1/quartus/bin$ bash quartus
