Quartus 6.1 for Linux

Altera had opened the download of complete Altera Desgin Suit 6.1 for Linux, including Quartus, Nios II, IP and Modelsim.

Now you can configure sof, download image, debug and program flash using USB Blaster, all on your Linux PC, even if you did not purchase a license. I updated the wiki to this release,

http://nioswiki.jot.com/wikihome/operating...quartusforlinux (http://nioswiki.jot.com/wikihome/operatingsystems/%c2%b5clinux/quartusforlinux)

I also updated other parts of the nios wiki, including info on nameserver, timezone, dhcp and nfsroot.

    I don't think so.

But you may look at the wiki page,

Thanks for putting it on the nios wiki.

I didn't know anything about the details, but I think what you need is the gdb server/client with jtag.

Will Quartus versions from now on be available for linux, or is it just a 30 day evaluation?

The license requirement does not change in 6.1. If you don't have the license, it is just 30 days eval for hardware design.

But the software tools do not have such limitation. Please read the release note of 6.1.

I can run quartus 6.1 and sopc builder on FC6 ( with legacy software support). The tools dir was installed from WBEL4. But the install script has problems on FC6.
