Profiling applications

Looks like this has been asked a couple times in the past, but no responses, and of course things have changed so... Are there any tools available for profiling applications on Nios II Linux? ...

Does any one know how we can compile this libpopt?

I'm using CentOS5.4 and the version of libpopt seems like 1.10.2.3

I'm not sure if this is causing the compilation error.
