Problems when loading .sof file on to flash in DE2

Hi,

You do not need to specify a board, so that is not the issue. You may have the RUN/PROG switch set to PROG, in which case you need to be loading a POF, not SOF; setting yo PROG uses the Active Serial mode to program the EPC chip for instead of programming the FPGA directly. See the DE2 User Manual for more instructions on using Active Serial programming. If this is the problem, you could also put the PROG/RUN switch back to RUN and then load the SOF into the FPGA.

There is a tutorial on Altera's University Program web pages for using the SOPC Builder with the DE2 board.
