problem about multiple cores onDE2-70

hello everyone. I creat a project to test two cores run independtly,I mean not to use the mutex or mailbox. My projects including quartus project and niosii project are compiled sucessfully . but when I download the code into de DE2-70,the rusult is that only one core runs. I want to know is it possible to make the two cores run independtly? how can I achieve it. Thank you very much
