Placing Compact Flash on a Tri-state bus

Does any one know how to move the compact flash core from the avalaon bus to an avalon tri-state bus? I have reworked the HDL to create a bi-directional data bus and removed the readdata/writedata assignments for both the ide and ctl interfaces. I have changed the class.pft file to set the bus type to tri state. SOPC shows the device on a tri-state bus and allows pin assignments. When the system is generated, the bus is changed to avalon and is shown as not connected on the "system contents" page of SOPC.
