OpenCores_Ethernet_MAC - Can it be used ???

I am very curious:

has anyone, ever, managed to use igor's opencores_ethernet_mac ?

I did try to ask this question in a more decent manner (read: just as another message in an existing topic), but the only answer I got was missing my point.

Suppose, just for a second, that I do not feel confortable spending another $200 ++ to get the CD from Microtronix or the kit from MoreThanIP, because I just spent $400 on the Evaluation Board (Altera - Cyclone). This is all for a university project, there are other components with the associated costs involved and nobody is ever going to reimburse me.

One of the factors that lead to my decision to buy it was that the ethernet interface was not going to be a problem. Bad decision, it seems !

I'm not very experienced (to say the least) and don't seem to be able to get the driver to work in the uClinux 2.6.x kernel.

The problem is, of course, the mapping of the registers. The compiler messages have, already, been posted in this forum, I don't want to repeat them here unless asked to do so.

Can anybody help, please ?
