Altera_Forumyou are lucky - altera is running a promotion which ends on september 2nd.
Various development kits are up to 50% reduced, and they sell you a NIOS2 license for $95... ask your local altera distributor or have a look at: link (http://www.altera.com/b/lowcost/pro-lowcost.jsp)
