nios2-tools for nios1

is there anyone who tried to use the "nios2configtool" for the nios1??? http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif

is it possible to use the nios2-gnutools for nios1?

or can i at least build a toolchain for nios1 from the nios2-gcc-sources?

and the mother of all questions: is there a WORKING hal for nios1???????? http://forum.niosforum.com/work2/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif

(i have already tried the 2 existing packages from qiang huang and hao tseng)

Nope afraid not, and it won't work. If you want eCos for Nios 1 then a port was done by a student see

However I have no idea of the quality of it.

No the instruction sets are different. Why not just use the compiler which came with Nios 1 though?

No and there are no current plans to provide one.
