nios2-download standalone

for a demonstration i need the nios2-download utility "standalone".

i imagine the following steps:

- use the quartusii programmer to load the fpga image

- open the nios2 sdk shell

- use nios2-download to download my program into the sdram

the problem is, i don't want to install ~1.5gb for quartus and the alteraide on our laptop.

i tried to install only the nios2ide, but the setup complained about quartus missing.

so my question is, what do i need for nios2-download to work standalone, as the utility is a cygwin program?

Maybe you want to know the Jtag protocal,then design the standalone program.
