Nios UART - can't receive data

Im having a simple UART connection using NEEK and PC- Hyperterminal

I can successfully transmit characters from my Nios, but when i try to transmit character from hyperterminal to NEEK, I can't receive any character, even the rrdy status flag doesn't change from 0.

please help me about this problem.

    Might be due to insane features of hyperterminal - or at least it looking for some modem signals before transmitting.

    The async terminal emulator in 'putty' is much more user friendly.

    Wow! thanks sir dsl for recommending putty terminal emulator.

    Now I can see my UART com is working! ^_^

    Ditto here, hyperterm has foiled me more than once. I now use Tera Term Pro.
