NIOS II Perspective?

I downloaded Quartus 9.1 webpack along with Nios II 9.1. I already had Quartus 7.2 installed as well as Quartus 8.0. When I tried to build the hello_world_small example, found under 'C:\altera\91\nios2eds\examples\verilog\niosII_cycloneII_2c35\small' I received a TCL error that referenced a path in c:\altera\72.... I uninstalled Quartus 7.2 and still received the error. I then reinstalled Nios II 9.1, hoping to restore whatever path was linked to Quartus 7.2 environment. However, my eclipse environment no longer has any link to the Nios II perspective. I have been unable to restore the eclipse environment. Is there any way to restore the NIOS II perspective within the eclipse environment?

Thanks for the reply, but that was the point of the post. There is no Nios II option within my "Window | Open Perspective | Other...". When I originally installed the tool this options was available as was the option to simply do "File | New | Project | Nios II...." However, for some reason all of the Nios II awareness seems to have gone away. Since the Eclipse tool is a generic IDE I imagine that the Nios II capability is defined in an XML file somewhere. The odd thing is that when I removed the Nios II software and then reinstalled, with the same file that I originally downloaded, I still don't have Nios II support.

Okay, sorry for the misunderstanding. Let's start with the simple things first. The first thing I suspect is a corrupt workspace. Have you tried removing your workspace or starting the Eclipse environment with another workspace? How are you launching the Eclipse environment? Are you using the IDE or the newer Software Build Tools for Eclipse?

I uninstalled the Nios II software again. I then downloaded the Nios II 9.1 software again and installed it. Now the software appears to be back in the proper configuration. I can now access the Nios II projects and perspective from within the ecipse environment.

    Thanks,

There is some problems between versions in nios ide workspaces. Reason is nios ide latest ver. overwrite library in earliest ver. If you want to have several nios ide versions please use Altera_Tool_Switch.
