Is there any information about what's new/different in the 1.1 release, and what the compatibility issues are?

In particular, is uCos-II/LWIP still supported under V1.1?

    Hi Beymaz,

    it's a long argument...

I think u can download some documents from altera site...

In general, Quartus is used to design HDL blocks, and it's hardware design;SOPC builder is linked to it, it allows you to create HDL blocks containing Nios processor;IDE is linked to it, it allows you to create software project for Nios II processor...

    Hi everyone.

I have read that the free software doesn't permit the simulation.

    Is it true?

The free license (called web license) doesn't allow the use of the ModelSim Altera software - this means you won't be able to use the Nios testbench generated by SOPC Builder, but you can do small simulations in the Quartus' built-in simulator. Also you can go to www.model.com (http://www.mentor.com) and ask for an evaluation license for ModelSim (though will be limited to a month or so probably).

    thanks for the answer!

i'd like to know if with Quartus' built-in simulator i can simulate the niosII software?

In the altera web site i have read that the altera company provides a ModelSim-Altera software.

Is it different from ModelSim that i can donwload from www.model.com?

which application notes do you suggest me ?

    thanks
