Hi there,

What hardware are you using? Is it a development kit or a custom board?

There have been many discussions on this kind of error before. Although most of the posts no longer exist on this site, you could try typing the following into Google search:

not responding site:niosforum.com

and view the cached results. You should get some idea of what other people have found to cause such problems.

Also, what revision of USB-Blaster are you using? I had intermittent problems communicating with NIOS using an Altera Blaster Rev. B. I switched to using a Terasic Blaster and have never had a problem since. Later Altera Blasters should be OK too.
