Nios II cannot allocate heap error

When doing a build for Nios II version 8.1 "cannot allocate heap error" and my build crashes. This seems to be an issue with Symantec

    IIRC this is a bug in Cygwin, and may be related to an antivirus, but I'm not sure. Just do a search in this forum, the answer should be there.

    You should consider upgrading your Quartus/Nios distribution, the more recent versions of NiosII use a newer cygwin, with the bug corrected.
