Nios II 6.0 -- gcc source code

I finally received my 6.0 CDs, but I didn't see the gcc source tarball

on the Linux CD. The sources were in common/gnusrc.tgz in v5.1.

Does anyone know where the sources are?

Regards,

    Hi Scott,

I can find the source tar file in nios2 linux full 6.0 beta.

But I didn't get the final release yet.

The nios2 comes with quartusII 6.0 is evalutaion edition, there is no gnu sources.

Do you have nios2 full edition?

    Hi hippo,

    Ok. Understood.

    > Do you have nios2 full edition?

I have a full license ... but I haven't received the 6.0 Nios II CDs yet, only Quartus.

BTW: With v5.1 I also noticed that the sources on the linux CD and the sources on th eWindoze CD

are _not_ the same. (unless I fat fingered something along the way ... which is possible).

Anyway, thanks for the info :-)

    Hi Hippo,

    A few more questions:

What version of binutils and gcc is used in 6.0?

Did you hear anything about the release date? ... other than 'soon' ;-)

    Thanks,

They are binutils 2.15 and gcc 3.4.1, the same as before.

They added some new features to gcc, you can find them in the gnutools doc.

I had asked about the release, but didn't get an answer too.

    Scott,

The 6.0 GNU tools sources are at the same FTP location that the previous ones could be found:

    ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/download/su...sors/nios2/gnu/ (ftp://ftp.altera.com/outgoing/download/support/ip/processors/nios2/gnu/)

There's a website that needs updating, which probably caused this confusion:

    http://www.altera.com/support/ip/processor...e-tutorial.html (http://www.altera.com/support/ip/processors/nios2/ide/ips-nios2-ide-tutorial.html)

    Hope this helps....

    Cheers,

The tarballs don't have the newlib sources -- are we still at version 1.12.0 ?

    Thanks,
