NIOS IDE with Eclipse 3.1?

I'd like to run the latest Eclipse with the NIOS IDE. I've got NIOS 5.1 installed but it still uses Eclipse 3.0, not 3.1.

Before I start poking around I'd like to find out if someone has already attempted this and has any tips.
