19 years agomouse behaviour in quartus bdf on linux
Hi all,
We're running quartus II v6.0 sp1 fairly succesfully on a mix of debian and slackware linux boxes. I have a really annoying problem on one of the machines but only when working with a block diagram file. If I open an existing project then I can select a component/symbol within the design using the mouse but I cannot move the selected component, I get a 'forbidden icon' ( circle with diagonal line). However I can move the selected symbol using the arrow keys :( If I want to add a new component I can select it with the mouse from the list, or use the megawizard, but when it comes to placing it in the bdf I get the same forbidden symbol. Under all other circumstances the mouse works correctly. The systems that work are using x11 6.8 and 6.9 from Xorg, the kernel versions are 2.6.19-rc3 and 2.6.16-2-p4-smp on Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.00GHz and Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 1.80GHz respectively. The machine with the problem used to work until recent package upgrades that included x 6.8 ->6.9. It is an AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3000+ with 2.6.12.4# 6 Tue Oct 31 21:20:11 GMT 2006 i686 athlon-4 i386 GNU/Linux kernel. Running strace -f hasn't been very successful as most times it just locks up and dies especially if I try and capture the output to file. I haven't found any obvious differences between the installed libraries or config files on the three different systems. If anyone has any ideas ? Nigel G.
