I'll second the motion by slacker! You WILL get those errors if you don't follow that workaround (it doesn't work out of the box). My problem is that when I do it from the command line as instructed - it gets all the way through erasing and programming, and then the verify fails and the contents of flash are incorrect. Even though I have tested in a program that the flash device works fine as connected.

Let's ponder this one. Altera never once tried it on their own..??
