Memory Balancing Act

I was trying to put a Nios2f into a 1C3 with 2k of ICache and 1K of DCache. Even though I had enough M4Ks, I got a fitting error (it though I didn't have enough M4Ks). There is plenty of M4ks for a 2k/1k split. If you use 1k/1k or 2k/2k it works. It seems like the SOPC builder needs balance with the I and DCache. Why is this?

    Got the same thing on a 1C3. Thought it was because I still used 2K for my GERMS monitor. I also have about 3Kb left. Had to do 1k/1k before it compiled.

    Will the same apply to a 1C6 or larger? I haven't had a chance to try yet.
