LWIP with or without MicroC/OS-II

Hi,

I need to create two programs that comunicates by sockets (like tcp_receiver.c and tcp_sender.c from older version of Nios with plugs library). I would like to do this with NiosII, OpenCoresMAC and LWIP, but without MicroC/OS-II. Is this a good idea or with OS sounds better?

Does someone have example programs?
