Interfacing Intel Starta Flash

Hello

In the past I've come across some problems wih the Nios flash controller. The problems were a result of working with flash chips that were not a specific Intel or AMD types. In order to prevent such problems in a current project, I would like to know if anyone here has ever used that controller to interface to one of Intel's Start flash chips (also called J3). THe specific part number I have in mind is the 28F640J3.

Any comments on this subject will be highly appreciated.
