19 years agoIf you have a development board, you may use the uC-OS II that comes with it (Nios II 5.0). I do not think there were many changes made to software examples, one of which is the uC-OS II. I you would like an upgraded version, you should pay Altera for an upgrade IPR-NIOS (US$495). You may ask your local Altera distributor, if they can send you only the CDs for free, without a license. I will not mention other ways to get the software.
You may still try eCos (the installation package can be found somewhere on this forum), but I do not feel confident enough to say this will be the best decision. If you wish to use Ethernet, read-write flash file system, USB, I2C... and you stil have enough time left for development (about 6 months to get it right) than eCos may be a cheaper option. IzI
