How to add a system time clock on DE2?

I want a system clock on DE2, so that I can use ftime(), getsystemtime() function under uclinux? How to add it? and How to configure the kernel?

    If you have a network connection you could use NTP to synchronize the system clock that is allready provided by Linux.
