How do I disable debugger console

This is new to the NIOS II IDE v1.1.

In the old IDE, v1.0 , if COM1: was already being used, the debugger console didn't open, but caused no problems. In the new IDE v1.1 the launcher sees that COM1: is already in use, and aborts the launch. Very annoying. I don't want the console view - I want COM1: to be used by my application. Anyone got any idea of how to turn this 'feature' off.

Thanks,

Bart

There is a selection for the IDE's debug console in the debug set up dialog box. It is under the "Target Connection" tab.

Set the Nios II Terminal Communication device to none.
