How can I add a drivers to my kernel

Hello every body, I'm a beginner and I'd like to add manually a new driver in my microC Linux kernel... I'm trying to understand how does the kernel work ... Does any body know how ...

If you want to learn, how the kernel work read "Linux Device Drivers, Third Edition". You can get it in your favorite bookstore or for free from o'reilly (http://www.oreilly.com/openbook/).
