Hello,

the NIOS Makefile refers to a $(SOPC_KIT_NIOS2)/components/altera_hal/build/app.mk

It looks like you're compiling your application targeting NIOS' HAL and not uCLinux.

IIRC, NIOS's HAL does not have a stderr.
