GNU Sources for 6.1

As usual, the source for binutils, gcc, etc. is missing from the Linux DVD, only the newlib

tree is included. I couldn't find the source at the ftp site either. Has anyone managed to

find it? And if so, how many files are missing this time?

    I guess putting the sources on the DVD, or better posting a patch file is asking far too much 8-P

    I don't like to complain, but we really shouldn't have to "request" anything.

    The GPL is very clear, either the sources, or a _written_ offer, must come

    with the binaries. I've found neither.

    Hi Scott,

    I would agree with you. They should give the source together with the release.

    I had searched all the media and could not find them all.

    Then I asked Altera, and got it after two weeks.

    Maybe they think few people need them.

    Perhaps, but that does not release Altera from their obligations under the GPL.

    Ugghh ... what a mess ... the scripts/sources are all dos format CRLF, the attributes are all 0777.

    I see it's still binutils 2.15 and gcc 3.4.1 -- are you aware of any _significant_ changes since 6.0

    (or 5.1 for that matter)? If not, I might not waste my time on this release.

    The source was exactly what I got from Altera.

    I would make a zip again, and "unzip -a" to remove the CRLF.

    As I know, Altera is rather conservative.

    I don't think they will ever make big changes from the old stuff.

    It should be only minor bug fixes.

    They had been looking for GNU guru to join their team. But I don't know if they got it or not.

    As it turns out, the sources are posted on the Altera web site:
