general question about toolchain

I've just install nios2 cd [version1.1 for Linux contents] eclipse, nios2-elf-gcc etc.

I'm new to nios2 environment, and I have some question about IDE:

I'm running debian on my host and I'm using eclipse2.1 of this distro.

= Is it possible to merge Altera plugin and feature to my installed eclipse?

When I try to run nios2-gdb-server script I have problem with libjtag_client.so library:

I haven't this library on my system.

= Where can I find it?

= Is the installation of my environment complete or is there anything else in other CDs?

    Though Debian isn't officially supported it does appear to work. You need to install the tcsh and gawk packages if you don't already have them.

    libjtag_client.so comes from Quartus II, so you need to install a Linux version of Quartus II to get this. See the Altera website for details of how to download this.

    I don't know about whether it's possible to merge the Altera eclipse extensions into an existing install of eclipse, but I suspect not.
